Many of my projects in woodworking involve creating functional devices and machines. The design process involves understanding how these machines work, and how the limitations of wood as a medium can be overcome in order to allow for a working product. The projects shown here include a functioning electric motor and a working film camera.
In outdoor photography, I work to capture my partners in ways that communicate the experiences which they are having. These images help others understand the struggles and emotions that people in challenging places go through, as well as the joys that these situations bring.
Shooting photographs with film requires significantly more planning and thought than digital, which allows for rapid shots at no cost. Film photography also requires technical understanding of cameras as well as development processes. These examples include samples from studies of structures, nature, as well as darkroom photogram techniques.
